Ways to Glorify God While You Work.

1. Work for the Lord first but also work for man.

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Colossians 3:23-24

You may not always agree with all the decisions or changes your company makes, but you should always respect and obey your authority. Just like you would The Lord.

2. Be honest in all dealings with wages and use your salary to bless others.

A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, But a just weight is His delight. Proverbs 11:1

He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with anyone who had need.

Ephesians 4:28

All the money we earn is not ours, it is form God and it should be for God. He calls us to be good stewards of your money so that we are able and willing to give to those in need.

3. Grow in your skill set, work hard and strive for excellence.

Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings...

Proverbs 22:29

Even if you feel like no one notices all your hard work or appreciates all you do, The Lord does. What a joy it is to make yourself better each day at what you do. So, strive to do just that. Be just a little better at something every day.

4. Love and encourage your co-workers.

Let all that you do be done in love.

1 Corinthians 16:14

It is so easy to just go to work, do YOUR job, and go home. However, we should work in a loving way. Being encouraging and helpful to our co-workers and bosses. Even if you aren't particularly fond of them.

5. Encompass the fruits of the spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control;

Galatians 5:22-23

This will cover so many areas in the way you work, and some of it I've already addressed. Hide these attributes in your heart and pull them out often and with sincerity. You may be surprised how your co-workers will respond.

Love - not Selfishness

Joy - not Self-pity

Peace - not in Turmoil

Patience - not Restlessness

Kindness - not Indifference

Goodness - not Pride

Faithfulness - not Presumption

Gentleness - not Harshness

Self-Control - not Self-Indulgence

6. Be creative

And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding and in knowledge and in all craftsmanship.

Exodus 35:31-32

God is creative, its how it all started, and we are creating in his image. A good creative idea will most likely be welcome in your superiors eyes. They will appreciate anything that would speed up productions and lower costs. Don't be afraid to present a creative idea, The Lord has fashioned that creativity in you for a purpose.

7. Pray and Worship always

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Romans 12:12

The Word says to be constant in prayer. I wonder just how many attributes we would be able to acheive each hour if we were truly in prayer constantly. You don't have to stop, bow your head, and close your eyes to pray. The Lord is always listening and He knows when you are talking to Him. Furthermore, why not worship Him while your at it. Hum or whistle your favorite worship song or hymn while you work (If it's not disruptive) this would be a good way to keep your focus on Him and remind you to be praying. Tune into your local christian radio sation and sing His praises on your way to work, it doesn't have to sound good for Him to be pleased.

The Work place could very well be your battlefield here on earth. So, take up your sword, put on your armor EVERYDAY and fight for The Lord. Spread His name. Teach His unconditional love. There is so much good news to be spread. Don't miss an oppurtunity.
